Programs & pricing

Three programs. Published prices. Three weeks minimum.

Every program includes boarding, feeding, daily pictures, a weekly video update, the written training log, all training equipment, an in-home transfer session and a twelve-month support line.

Foundation · 3 weeks · $3,000

For the dog that hears you and ignores you.

Three weeks on property building the behaviors that make a large dog livable in a house with guests, kids and a front door. On-leash reliability first. Nothing fancy, nothing skipped.

What your dog leaves with

  • Sit, down, place and a duration stay that holds while you answer the door
  • Loose-leash walking and a real heel, without a struggle
  • On-leash recall under moderate distraction
  • Door manners: no charging, no jumping on guests
  • Crate training and quiet settling indoors
  • Leash pressure understood, so corrections stop being a fight
  • House rules: furniture, counters, thresholds, feeding routine

Right for

Adolescent and adult dogs that have the vocabulary and choose not to use it, and puppies from fourteen weeks whose owners want to start correctly rather than fix things at eighteen months.

A leash being handed from trainer to owner while a calm golden retriever sits at heel on a bright driveway.
Every program ends with a handover, not a drop-off.

Off-Leash Freedom · 4 weeks · $4,500 · Most chosen

The leash comes off, and stays off.

Everything in Foundation, then four weeks conditioning off-leash reliability and proofing it in the places you actually go. This is the program most families choose, because off-leash is usually the thing they wanted all along.

Added on top of Foundation

  • Low-level e-collar conditioning, introduced only after the dog knows every command on leash
  • Off-leash recall, heel and place at distance
  • Distraction proofing: beaches, boat docks and ramps, parks, patios, parking lots
  • Neutrality around unfamiliar dogs and people in public
  • Boundary and threshold work: the open front door, the open gate, the open car door
  • Two in-home transfer sessions instead of one

Right for

Families on the water, in Gulf Breeze, Tiger Point and Perdido Key, who want a dog they can take places. Also the right fit for large, biddable breeds with more energy than manners.

A black Labrador holding a calm sit on the bow of a boat on flat green water.
Off-leash proofing on the water is part of the program, not an upsell.

Estate & Concierge · 6 weeks · $7,800

Six weeks for the cases that need six weeks.

Everything above, plus one of two specialist tracks and a concierge handover. Six weeks because behavior modification and gun dog foundations both move at the dog’s pace, not the calendar’s.

Choose one track

  • Behavior modification — leash reactivity, dog-to-dog aggression, resource guarding, territorial displays, severe separation anxiety and fear cases, assessed individually before enrollment
  • Gun dog and retriever foundations — steadiness, hold conditioning, water entries, single and double marks, introduction to blinds, and a careful, staged gunfire introduction. Serious bird dog work has its own programs and its own page.

Also included

  • Four in-home transfer sessions with the whole household
  • Twelve months of unlimited refresher weeks
  • A written behavior or field report at completion, suitable for your veterinarian

Included in every program

No intake fee. No surprise line items.

  • Daily pictures, weekly video

Pictures every day your dog is here, and a video update every week. Training, not highlights.

  • Written training log

Commands drilled, environments used, collar levels, food intake, setbacks.

  • Free door-to-door transport

Pickup on intake day and delivery home at graduation, anywhere in Escambia or Santa Rosa. Included with every program, at no charge.

  • In-home transfer session

At least one, at your house, with everyone who lives there.

  • Twelve-month support line

Call or text when something slips. No charge, no time limit on the twelve months.

  • All boarding and feeding

Individual turnout, your own food if you send it, and a routine that does not change.

  • All training equipment included

Collar, leash, long line, place cot and, where used, the e-collar. Fitted to your dog, demonstrated to you, and yours to take home at no extra charge.

Honest limits

Who Leeward is not right for.

At these prices you deserve to know where the edges are. I turn down work, and I would rather do it on a phone call than after you have paid.

  • Puppies under fourteen weeks. They belong at home with you, doing socialization and house training. I will happily tell you what to do in the meantime.
  • Dogs who need veterinary behavioral medication managed. If a case needs pharmacological management, it needs a board-certified veterinary behaviorist leading it. I will work alongside one, but I will not lead that.
  • Owners who want a finished dog and no follow-through. Board-and-train moves the dog a long way. The last stretch is yours. If nobody at home will maintain the rules, the dog regresses and we have both wasted your money.
  • Anyone shopping for a two-week fix. Three weeks is the minimum here. Shorter programs sell better and hold worse.
  • Dogs with a serious bite history and no realistic management plan. Some cases can be improved but never made safe around children. I will say so plainly.

Why three weeks is the floor

Roughly the first week is spent teaching the behavior cleanly. The second is spent making it reliable at home. The third is spent breaking it on purpose, somewhere loud, and rebuilding it until it holds.

Skip the third week and you get a dog that performs in a quiet yard. That is the dog most people already have.

Payment and holds

A deposit holds your intake date, with the balance due at drop-off. Payment plans are available on the four- and six-week programs. Confirm exact terms on your assessment call.

Six dogs at a time. Never more.

Tell me about your dog on a 20-minute call. If Leeward is not the right answer, I will tell you that on the call and point you somewhere better.
